The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) laid siege to a house in Akabat Jabr camp, located in the West Bank. This was reported on 27 November by the Lebanese television station Al Mayadeen. According to the TV channel, IDF troops surrounded one of the residential buildings in the Akabat Jabr camp near Jericho. Sounds of gunfire and explosions were heard there. It should also be noted that Palestinian forces clashed with the Israeli army in the camp.
Earlier, on 26 November, it was reported that the Palestinian death toll from an Israeli airstrike in the West Bank had risen to four.
A 20-year-old Palestinian man died on the night of 26 November as a result of Israeli shelling in the West Bank town of Al-Bira, near Ramallah. A day earlier, it was reported that two Palestinians were killed and seven wounded in an Israeli airstrike.
On November 19, Al-Jazeera reported that the IDF had begun attacking populated areas in the West Bank. It was noted that heavy military equipment and bulldozers were destroying the streets of Jenin.
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of 7 October when the radical Palestinian movement Hamas subjected Israel to massive rocket fire from the Gaza Strip and also invaded border areas in the south of the country and took hostages. On the same day, Israel began retaliating against targets in the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinians are trying to return the border between the two countries to the lines that existed before the 1967 Six-Day War. Palestine wants to create its own state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and make East Jerusalem its capital. Israel rejects the conditions set.
