Jordan's King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein met with Wang Yi, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, in Amman.
Abdullah said that Jordan attaches great importance to developing relations with China and looks forward to further strengthening high-level exchanges, promoting practical cooperation, improving communication and coordination on international and regional issues, and jointly addressing the current turbulent international situation, particularly the unrest in the Middle East.
Jordan fully supports the holding of the second China-Arab States Summit in China next year and is ready to contribute fully to the preparatory work so that the summit becomes a new opportunity to deepen the strong ties between Arab nations and China.
Wang Yi said that this year marks the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partnership between China and Jordan. China is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with Jordan, implement important agreements reached by the two heads of state, and set the direction for the next decade of strategic partnership between the two countries.
China is a responsible major power that consistently adheres to the principle of equality among all nations regardless of their size and the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries. It supports all nations in their efforts to pursue development in accordance with their national conditions.
China will always stand with the global South and small and medium-sized countries, and will steadfastly defend the common interests of the vast majority of developing countries. We remain committed to being Jordan's most reliable strategic partner in its efforts towards development and revitalisation.
