TEHRAN - Iran's state television reported in the early hours of this morning (CEST) that the helicopter in which Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi was travelling had burned down and none of the passengers survived. Similar statements were made by other foreign media around the world. The wreckage of the helicopter was found by rescuers early this morning. An unnamed Iranian official confirmed to Reuters, that the helicopter that had the accident on Sunday landed hard and burned completely and all the people on board probably died. The Agency is withholding the identity of this representative.
DUBAI, May 20. /TASS/. All passengers and crew of Iranian President Ebrahim Raimi's helicopter were killed in a crash, the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society Pir Hossein Kolivand announced.
"No traces of live passengers were found after the helicopter crash site was discovered," Kolivand said on the IRIB TV channel.
Also on board the helicopter were Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Malek Rakhmati, governor of East Azerbaijan province, and Tabriz Imam of Friday Prayer Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem.
