President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel will welcome President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda to Prague Castle. This official visit, scheduled for 7 July 2025, underlines the continuing close cooperation between the Czech Republic and Poland, two key allies within the Visegrad Group, the European Union and NATO.
The meeting comes as Poland prepares to end President Duda's second term in office, which ends at the beginning of August 2025. The visit may thus be one of Andrzej Duda's last international appearances as president. The day will begin with the arrival of President Duda at Prague Castle, where a welcoming ceremony will take place in the presence of the media, who will have the opportunity to capture the entire proceedings. This will be followed by a private meeting between Presidents Peter Paul and Andrzej Duda.
Afterwards, the official delegations of the Czech Republic and Poland will meet to discuss key topics of bilateral and regional cooperation.
The visit of the Polish President to Prague is another manifestation of the long-standing excellent relations between the Czech Republic and Poland. In recent years, cooperation has deepened thanks to common positions on issues such as support for Ukraine, strengthening NATO's eastern wing and policy coordination within the European Union.
According to information from Czech media, such as the server iDNES.cz, the main topics of the meeting are expected to be bilateral relations, the security situation in Europe and cooperation in the energy sector. Special attention could be paid to regional stability issues, given the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and growing geopolitical tensions.
Both Poland and the Czech Republic are strong supporters of support for Ukraine, whether in the form of military, humanitarian or economic aid. Andrzej Duda, who has been President of Poland since 2015, will complete his second term in August 2025.
