MOSCOW, 26 March. Russian President Vladimir Putin has submitted the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Russia and Iran to the Government for ratification.
The document will be presented to the lawmakers by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko.
"By this decree, I hereby appoint Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko as the official representative of the Russian President in the negotiations on the ratification of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran, signed in Moscow on 17 January 2025," states the presidential decree.
The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement was signed during Iranian President Masoud Pezeskian's visit to Moscow in January 2025. The document creates a legal framework for the further development of cooperation between Moscow and Tehran in the long term. The treaty consolidates the status of Russia and Iran as strategic partners and covers all areas, including defence, counter-terrorism, energy, finance, transport, industry, agriculture, culture, science and technology.
