A spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce today commented on the situation surrounding Nexperia B.V., which has reportedly blocked office software for the company's Chinese employees.
According to the Chinese side, negotiations are underway between Wingtech Technology Co.,Ltd. and Nexperia B.V. on an inter-company dispute. These negotiations are taking place thanks to the efforts of the governments of China and the Netherlands to stabilise the situation.
However, the spokesman warned that Nexperia's recent decision to block Chinese employees' work accounts en masse had caused new tensions. The move, he said, also creates further complications for ongoing negotiations between the two companies.
China stressed that it has long taken a responsible approach to the stability of the global semiconductor production and supply chain. Nexperia's actions have significantly disrupted the company's normal operations and production processes, according to the ministry.
At the same time, the spokesman warned that if the situation led to a new crisis in the global semiconductor supply chain, the responsibility would be borne by the Dutch government, according to the Chinese side.
