Wang Yi, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has a telephone conversation with Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.
Wang Yi said that the strategic leadership of the presidents of the two countries is a key political guarantee for the development of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Uzbekistan in the new era. He said the past year has confirmed the positive momentum of bilateral relations. Cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture and regional development has achieved visible results and shown a trend of overall opening up and steady improvement.
The minister also stressed that China and Uzbekistan should further strengthen strategic coordination and deepen cooperation, support each other in safeguarding their core interests and develop win-win projects in all fields. He said close cooperation on international and regional issues, promoting the role of the United Nations, upholding international justice and order, and maintaining peace and stability in the region are also important.
The year 2026 also marks the tenth anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Uzbekistan. Wang Yi said the two sides should use this opportunity to formulate and expand their vision for the development of bilateral relations for the coming decade.
