Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi in Amman on Monday.
China supports Jordan in safeguarding its national sovereignty, territorial integrity and national dignity, as well as in fulfilling its unique and important role in regional and international affairs, Wang Yi said. He added that China supports Jordan in its efforts towards national renewal, which aims to bring prosperity to the country and well-being to its people.
Wang Yi stated that China is willing to maintain close high-level contacts with Jordan, strengthen ties between the two foreign ministries, and jointly plan exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
He noted that practical cooperation between China and Jordan is proceeding smoothly and that China is ready to continue providing support within its capabilities for Jordan's economic and social development, importing more high-quality Jordanian products, and encouraging Chinese enterprises to invest and do business in Jordan.
The two countries can also explore cooperation opportunities in new areas such as photovoltaics, science and technology, and artificial intelligence, deepen people-to-people exchanges in culture, tourism, education, and civil aviation, and strengthen mutual understanding between the two peoples, Wang Yi added.
Wang Yi stated that China is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with Jordan to jointly safeguard regional peace, stability and development.
Safadi said that Jordan has always regarded China as a great friend and strategic partner and highly appreciates China's increasingly important role as a major country in international and regional affairs.
