Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message to the World Youth Conference for Peace on Tuesday.
Xi Jinping pointed out that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the Chinese people's victory in the resistance against Japanese aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
Eighty years ago, the Chinese people, together with the international community, in bloody and difficult struggles, completely defeated fascism and achieved a hard-fought peace.
Emphasizing that the future of peace depends on youth, Xi said he hopes young people from all countries will use the conference as an opportunity to exchange ideas, deepen understanding and forge friendships.
Youth should jointly promote peace and act for peaceful development, contributing their wisdom and strength to building a community with a shared future for all humanity, Xi added.
The World Youth Conference for Peace, held in Beijing, was jointly organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the All-China National Youth Federation.
