On Monday, August 19, 2024, President Petr Pavel and Mrs. Eva Pavlová met at the Láány Castle with over 90 representatives of Czech companies with the potential for rapid growth and international expansion. During the afternoon program, they had the opportunity to hear the opinions and experiences of each of the participants.

“I am convinced that if we lack something, it is not capable and courageous people, but rather the courage and willingness to take action. We lack the courage to support them, and instead, we often find ourselves complaining, looking for reasons why something might not work and why we should avoid it. And you are proof that this is definitely not the case, that there is something to build upon,” said President Petr Pavel at the beginning of the meeting. “We would very much like to contribute to highlighting what you do. We want to bring you together so that you can start networking, find out what each other is doing, and realize that you are not alone. We want to connect these 'islands of positive deviation,' as they are often called, into a single stream that clearly demonstrates that we have what it takes to compete at the highest level, and that we don't have to constantly remind ourselves that we are a small country that must settle for the scraps that the larger countries leave behind.”
