On June 30, a meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was held to discuss work on preventing and combating floods and droughts, chaired by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The meeting noted that China is experiencing frequent extreme weather events during this year's flood season and is facing natural disasters such as floods and droughts. Local regions and relevant authorities must further increase their awareness, establish basic and emergency response plans, pay close attention to the prevention of severe floods, droughts, and typhoons, and take effective measures to prevent and combat floods and other emergency rescue operations.
