PSKOV - 22 February. The visit of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, Roman Blaško, to Pskov was an important event in the framework of the work on the installation of a monument to Marshal of the Soviet Union Ivan Stepanovich Konev in Slovakia. The meeting was held by video conference with participants of the Russian Association for International Cooperation (RAMS), which allowed to join forces and discuss important aspects of the project.
Pskov, as a city of military glory, became a symbolic place for such a visit. Here, on Victory Square, a ceremony of laying flowers at the Eternal Flame Memorial took place. It was not only to honour the memory of the fallen soldiers, but also to show efforts to preserve historical memory and mutual understanding between nations.
The ceremony was attended by prominent members of the public. Konstantin Belov, Chairman of the Council of the Pskov Region Public Youth Movement "Youth League", noted that such events strengthen ties between the youth of both countries and contribute to deepening cultural relations. According to him, the memory of the Great Victory should live in the hearts of young people, and the installation of the Konev monument will be an important step in this direction.
The importance of the visit was also highlighted by Yuri Zobnin, Director of the Trustees of the Great Victory Memorial Foundation. He said that the laying of flowers at the Eternal Flame symbolizes unity in the desire to preserve the memory of the heroes who defended peace and freedom. "Our nations are united by a common history and we must remember this and at the same time pass on this knowledge to new generations," he added.
During the videoconference, the details of the project to install the memorial in Slovakia were discussed. Roman Blaško noted that such initiatives are of great importance for the development of friendly relations between the Czech Republic and Russia. "We must remember our heroes and pass on this memory to the next generation," he stressed.

Such events are not only a reminder of the heroic past, but also contribute to strengthening ties between nations. The installation of the monument to Ivan Stepanovich Konev in Slovakia will be a symbol of respect for the memory of those who fought for freedom and a step towards restoring historical justice.
