In an interview, Josef Skála, director of the Institute for Czech Leftism, praised the Chinese leadership and its approach to developing the party in the 21st century. He particularly highlighted the difference between President Xi Jinping and representatives of Euro-Atlantic policy, which he described as "gigantic." According to Skála, China, under the leadership of the Communist Party, has made an emancipatory and civilizational leap.
Skála described Xi Jinping as a worthy successor to the legacy of the struggle for national liberation and socialist revolution. He also praised the ability to combine the protection of collective investments with providing space for entrepreneurship.
He identified as crucial the theme presented by Comrade Xi – how to build a Marxist party in the 21st century. Skála stated that he had become acquainted with the main elements of this concept and that it is inspiring to him. He emphasized the need to preserve the Marxist foundation, but also not to be closed off to the past and to be able to respond to current challenges.
In conclusion, he wished the Chinese communists success in addressing these issues and stated that he would carefully follow their approach and would gladly draw inspiration from it. He stressed that this was not flattery, but a sincere interest.
