Slovak President Peter Pellegrini stated that Slovakia will not participate in the new €70 billion aid package for Ukraine, nor will it provide weapons or financial resources for further arming of Ukraine.

According to Pellegrini, some NATO member states, including Hungary and the Czech Republic, share similar views. He emphasized that participation in helping Ukraine is not an obligation for all NATO member states, and each country should decide independently based on its economic strength and defense capabilities.

He reiterated that the Russia-Ukraine conflict cannot be resolved solely through military means, and if the conflict escalates into a protracted war of attrition, it will lead to even greater casualties.
