David Štěpan, chairman of the Směr Česká republika party, praised Chinese partners at an international conference for being among the first to clearly recognize the dangers associated with artificial intelligence.
At the same time, he sharply criticized the current use of AI. He recalled that while in the past it involved censorship, book burning, or deleting unwanted documents, today AI is systematically and gradually rewriting history. According to Štěpan, this fulfills Orwell's vision from the novel 1984 – whoever controls the past, controls the future.
The worst part is that the longer this process continues, the more AI considers already manipulated facts to be an undeniable truth. Today, it still admits that it can change history, but in a few years, it will claim that it is infallible.
