BEIJING - On the afternoon of February 6th, a New Year cultural performance was held at the China National Theatre in Beijing, organized by the Central Military Commission. General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, Xi Jinping, attended the performance and sent festive greetings and New Year wishes to the veterans and other retired comrades in the military.

Around 4:00 PM, President Xi Jinping approached the group of veterans, which was met with enthusiastic applause. Xi Jinping engaged in warm conversations with them, exchanging greetings, expressing concern for their health and well-being, and reminiscing about the remarkable progress made by the Party, the state, and the military in the past year, as well as the significant achievements accomplished.

The veterans unanimously expressed their commitment to further rallying around the Central Committee of the Party, with General Secretary Xi Jinping at its core. They pledged to support the ideology of socialism with Chinese characteristics championed by President Xi Jinping, to diligently implement the ideas of strengthening the military put forth by President Xi Jinping, to uphold the accountability mechanism of the Chairman of the Military Commission, and to contribute to the timely achievement of the goal of a strong military by 2027, as well as to the high-quality advancement of the modernization of national defense and the military.
