The Communist Party of China (CPC) has reached a historic milestone of having exactly 100.27 million members by the end of 2024. The growth in membership and base cells confirms that the Party is stronger than ever.

According to a report released ahead of the party's 104th anniversary, there will be an increase of nearly 1.09 million new members during 2024. The CPC now has more than 5.25 million basic organisations, i.e. 74,000 more than in the previous year.

The party prides itself on self-discipline, reform and rigorous standardswhile investing in building local structures and educating the younger generation. More than 2.13 million people joined CPC in 2024, přičemž 83.7 % of whom were under 35 years of age a over half have a university degree.

The report also shows other shifts in the composition of the membership:

  • 31 milionů žen = 30,9 % of all members
  • 7.7 % ethnic minorities
  • 33 % members are workers and peasants
  • 57.6 % members have a diploma from a higher vocational school or university

So CPC is not only growing in numbers, but in its own words in quality and ideological readinesswhich is to form the basis for China's modernisation and 'national revival'.
