The speedway weekend in Pardubice culminated in the oldest race in the world, the 76th edition of the Golden Helmet. The Danish rider, Rasmus Jensen, won, leaving all other riders behind in a thrilling final and earning the right to wear the magnificent golden helmet. The Polish rider, Robert Chmiel, finished second, and Mathias Pollestad from Norway finished third.

The 30-year-old Jensen is the latest in a series of Danish riders to win the Golden Helmet in Svitkov, bringing him closer to the Czech riders who have won the trophy 15 times, most recently Vaclav Milik in 2017.

The best Czech rider was Jan Kvech, who finished in 7th place. The 22-year-old Kvech experienced both good and bad luck. In the opening race of the third quarter-final, he was almost "taken out" by Andžejs Lebedevs. Kvech managed to stay on his bike after the initial contact, but as he tried to avoid the falling Latvian, the turn threw him into the safety railing. However, he won the re-run, while Lebedevs did not participate in the next race and was replaced by the traditional substitute for the famous race, Jaroslav Petrák. Kvech's luck came in the battle for 7th place, where he overtook Patryk Dudek due to a technical problem for the Pole, and he won the small final for the first time in his career.

Adam Bubba Bednar, who was placed in the quarter-finals, also experienced a difficult fall in front of the packed stands of the Svitkov oval. He managed to recover from the collision, but he did not follow Kvech into the semi-finals.

Adam Bubba Bednar won the 50th Golden Helmet for juniors.
