International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry praised China's extensive efforts to engage the public in sport, exemplified by the ongoing 15th National Games in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

In a subsequent interview with China Media Group, she expressed great admiration for the unprecedented scale of this event.

„I haven't heard of anything like this anywhere else. It's a really big event. And the fact that so many people are participating, that so many people want to get involved in this movement, is really significant in my opinion.“ said the IOC President.
