The expert views of South African international relations specialists and diplomats will now reach a wider audience in the BRICS+ information space. TV BRICS established a new partnership in South Africa with The Diplomatic Society, a media platform specialising in international relations. The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by Janna Tolstikova, Director General of TV BRICS, and The Diplomatic Society Anisha Pemjee.
The partners will work together to promote humanitarian and economic cooperation between BRICS member and partner countries, develop professional communities and contribute to objective analytical interpretation of international events in the media space.
"Our editorial policy, as with TV BRICS, brings balance to the narrative in the global media space. Drumming was the first kind of wireless communication, and its evolution to today's digital age of instant communication brings many opportunities for innovation, but also reveals numerous challenges - especially for media workers. The balance, as represented by the symbol of yin and yang in Asian cultures, continues to serve as a guide for fruitful, progressive and profound cooperation between BRICS TV and The Diplomatic Society," said the President The Diplomatic Society Kirtan Bhana.
The Diplomatic Society is a pioneering South African media platform focused on international relations and diplomacy. Established in 1997, it conveys South Africa's perspective on the world stage. It covers topics related to intergovernmental humanitarian, economic and trade cooperation. With an extensive network of writers, diplomatic correspondents and strategic partners, it produces reliable, quality content that is of interest to opinion makers and international audiences.
According to Yevgenia Tolstoguzova, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department of TV BRICS, the media network is actively building a database of experts from BRICS+ countries. It currently includes more than 200 recognized specialists from Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Argentina, Spain and Chile. Among them are representatives from the Durban University of Technology in South Africa - Professor and Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Administration and Economics Zamokuhle Mbandlwa and Research Fellow Ndivhuho Tshikovhi. These experts analyse key international events and prepare analytical pieces on current issues for BRICS TV. Other media representatives, university students and young professionals can request expert commentary via the contact form.
Tolstoguzova said that BRICS TV cooperates with media from eight African countries - Egypt, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tunisia and Ethiopia, in addition to South Africa. In total, TV BRICS currently has more than 100 media partners from 30 countries and its information reach covers 80 countries.
