DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) - Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip have killed at least 32 people, including more than a dozen women and children, local medics said Sunday.Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is headed to the United States to meet with President Donald Trump about the war.
Israel ended a ceasefire with Hamas last month and resumed an air and ground offensive, carrying out waves of strikes and seizing territory to pressure the militant group into accepting a new ceasefire agreement and releasing the remaining hostages. It has also blocked the import of food, fuel and humanitarian aid to the coastal territory, which is heavily dependent on outside help, for more than a month.
"Supplies are running thin and the situation is becoming desperate," the UN agency for Palestinian refugees said on social media.
The latest Israeli strikes hit a tent and a house in the southern town of Khan Younis overnight Sunday to Monday, killing five men, five women and five children, according to Nasser Hospital, which received the bodies.
