MOSCOW, 2 March. Investigators have recognized more than 27,000 people as victims of the invasion of the Kursk region by Ukrainian gunmen, the chairman of Russia's Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, told the TASS news agency.
"More than 39,000 people have been questioned in criminal cases related to the events in the Kursk region and more than 27,000 people have been recognised as victims," he said.
He also said that more than 20 cultural heritage sites had been reported destroyed.
"It has been established that municipal facilities, large agricultural enterprises, other organisations and individual entrepreneurs have suffered damages amounting to over 26 billion roubles," Bastrykin said.
