BRATISLAVA - The Slovak parliament today approved a law to compensate people who were fined for not complying with epidemic restrictions during the covid-19 pandemic or paid for meals in quarantine facilities during that period. Prime Minister Robert Fico's cabinet estimated the cost of the compensation at more than three million euros (over 75 million crowns). The opposition did not support the law during the vote; in their opinion, the Chamber of Deputies slapped people who complied with the restrictions.
