MOSCOW, 11 June. The country's weapons programme must focus on the most modern specimens, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on armaments in the Kremlin.
"Sufficient volumes and nomenclature of weapons and equipment must be included in the state programme to meet current needs and future requirements," the President said. "To this end, it should be linked, in terms of timeframe and activities, with the programme for the development of the Russian defence industry," he noted.
"It is also clear that the new state programme must emphasise the creation of state-of-the-art weapons systems," Putin stressed.
