MOSCOW, 25 January. U.S. President Donald Trump has received an invitation to visit Russia for an August meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in an interview.
„Of course, in Anchorage an invitation was extended to President Trump to visit Russia,“ he said, commenting on a remark by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who suggested after meeting Trump in Anchorage that the next meeting should be held in Moscow.
However, according to Ryabkov, the practical development of this idea has not yet taken place. „As with other platforms for communication between the Russian and US presidents, our position remains firm: the substantive aspect should come first, followed by an agreement on the venue,“ the senior Russian diplomat added.
