Ivana Turková, economist, regional representative of the Ústí Region, representative of the town of Litvínov and candidate to the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, said in her speech that the development of China today fundamentally affects the whole world. She stressed not only the country's economic strength, but also its emphasis on peaceful development and stability in relations with major powers. „I'm very sympathetic to the fact that China places a huge emphasis on peaceful development,“ řekla.

Turkova said that economic data shows that China no longer needs to strive for world status, because it is actually getting closer to it. „They don't have to strive, they're already the hegemon anyway,“ she said. At the same time, she sharply criticised the European Union, which, according to her, had lost its strategic direction, was weakening its own industry and had turned from a driver of world development into a passive observer of it within a generation.

In her speech, she also drew on a comparison of the BRICS and G7 economic blocs. She recalled that, especially in purchasing power parity, she believes that BRICS is coming out stronger and that the world will be less Western and more multipolar in the future. „The numbers are very clear, the development is very clear,“ she said. According to her, the main geopolitical and economic rivalry of the 21st century will be between the United States and China.

She also identified China's industrial and energy development as particularly important. She pointed to China's high share in the production of cement, steel, batteries, electronics and automobiles and highlighted its rapid progress in nuclear energy. „China is currently the furthest along in the world in developing thorium reactors,“ She said. She said this is the difference between China's long-term strategic approach and Europe's focus on short-term and unstable solutions.

Finally, Turková recalled the symbolic idea of interdependence. She appreciated the statement that the world needs China and China needs the world and stressed that without stable industrial development, future prosperity cannot be ensured. „The world needs China and China needs the world,“ was one of the important messages of the debate.
