Statutory Vice-Chairwoman of the ČSSD Jana Volfová closely followed the international conference on artificial intelligence in Shanghai, particularly the speech by Chinese President Xi Jinping, which she said brought fundamental and valuable insights for the global development of artificial intelligence.
The key positive, according to Volfová, is the conclusion of the top Chinese representative that artificial intelligence must not become a tool of inequality between states. It should not suppress countries with less developed artificial intelligence and repeat the scenario of the technological revolution, in which advanced states profited while colonial countries suffered enormous losses.
Another key point of the president's speech was the emphasis that artificial intelligence should serve ordinary people, not just wealthy groups or individual states. It should make everyday life easier for people and should not be a source of fear for the public.
Volfová particularly appreciated China's approach — a country that ranks among the most advanced states in the field of artificial intelligence. Nevertheless, the Chinese side itself promotes the creation of rules and conditions for the fair development of the technology, equal standing for all states, and the possibility of using artificial intelligence for citizens of all countries.
