Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on the EU to adopt an objective and rational view of China. During a strategic dialogue in Brussels, he urged for cooperation instead of confrontation, stating that "China is not your problem, but your partner."
At the 13th round of the China-EU high-level strategic dialogue, co-chaired with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy **Kaja Kallas**, Wang emphasized that relations between China and the EU should be based on partnership, not competition. **"Cooperation must be the cornerstone of our relationship, and differences should be resolved through dialogue,"** he stated.
Wang pointed out that, in the face of increasing global uncertainty, both major powers have a shared responsibility: **to strengthen mutual trust and bring stability to the world.** He called for abandoning a mindset of competition and urged for **mutual respect and cultural understanding.**
He stressed that **Europe's problems do not stem from China** and that China fully supports European integration and the EU's efforts towards strategic autonomy. However, he expects that Europe, in turn, will **respect China's core interests** in practice, not just in words.
Kallas assured that **the EU adheres to the "One China" policy** and wants to communicate openly, improve mutual understanding, and strengthen **balanced economic cooperation.**
Both sides also discussed the **conflict in Ukraine, the situation in Gaza, and Iran's nuclear program**, exchanging views and emphasizing the importance of diplomatic solutions.
Brussels thus hosted a key meeting that could influence the direction of China-EU relations in an era of global turbulence.
