The amendment to the Labor Code came into effect in June. The notice period now begins upon delivery of the notice. The probationary period has been extended. 14-year-olds can now work part-time.
The amendment changes the rules regarding work interruptions. There will be situations where you cannot go to work due to natural disasters. The probationary period will be extended by the number of days you were unable to work due to such interruptions.
New rules apply to concession fees. Businesses now pay based on the number of employees; companies with up to 25 employees pay nothing.
The new concession fees will be applied from July. Companies with up to 49 employees will pay 1025 CZK per month, companies with up to 99 employees will pay 2050 CZK, and companies with up to 199 employees will pay 4100 CZK.
The tax administration is sending out information regarding property tax. This information will arrive via electronic means, email, and postal mail. If you haven't received anything, check your spam folder.
Beware of phishing emails. Scammers are impersonating tax authorities and demanding payments.
Are you registered for the cross-border VAT scheme for small businesses? Make sure you have submitted your first quarterly declaration. The deadline was April 30th.
Self-employed individuals who are covered by the health insurance system will not pay advance payments. This includes, for example, retirees and students. They will pay the full amount at the end of the year based on their income.
Employees at risk may be able to retire early thanks to employer contributions. This is planned under a bill on mandatory contributions, which is being debated in parliament.
The court has again overturned the higher tax imposed on Agrofert. Lovochemie, a subsidiary of Agrofert, is still in a legal dispute with Lovosice regarding property tax. The Supreme Administrative Court previously rejected the ruling.
The number of self-employed individuals is at a record high. Currently, there are 474,000. Experts attribute this increase to the "shadow economy."
“We have won the 'Civil Servant of the Year 2024' competition,” the tax administration boasts. The competition recognized the project for pre-filling property tax returns.

By June 2nd, pay your property tax if your payment is up to 5000 CZK.
By June 2nd, pay the first installment of your property tax if your payment is over 5000 CZK.
By June 16th, pay your quarterly or semi-annual advance payment for the tax on unexpected profits.
By June 16th, pay your quarterly or semi-annual advance payment for income tax.
By June 30th, submit your GATCA and FATCA reports. These apply to financial institutions.
By June 30th, file your declaration to claim a refund of excise tax for the first quarter of 2025.
