Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the need to accelerate the development of China's intellectual system in philosophy and social sciences.
Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks in a directive regarding the promotion of high-quality development in philosophy and social sciences.
Xi noted that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012, the Chinese community of philosophers and social scientists has steadily advanced innovation in knowledge, theoretical innovation, and methodological innovation, and has produced a number of valuable research results.
He stressed the need to deepen systematic and academic research, as well as the interpretation of new theories of the Party.
He called for accelerating the development of China's intellectual system in philosophy and social sciences, which should better address the questions posed by China, the world, the people, and the current era, striving for new progress in the high-quality development of philosophy and social sciences, and thereby contributing wisdom and strength to the advancement of Chinese modernization.
