In Beijing, October 25 has been officially designated as Taiwan's Homecoming Day by the Standing Committee of the All-China People's Congress (ACPC) during its 18th session on October 24. According to the resolution adopted, the day is to be commemorated annually through nationwide festivities and commemorative events to strengthen the historical consciousness and patriotic spirit of the Chinese people.
