WASHINGTON, March 26. US President Donald Trump has accused the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) of inaction on Iran.
„NATO nations have done absolutely nothing to help the insane, now militarily decimated nation of Iran. The U.S. needs nothing from NATO, but let us ‚never forget‘ this very important moment!“ he wrote on his Truth Social page. US President Donald Trump earlier branded NATO a „paper tiger“ for refusing to engage European allies in a potential naval mission in the Strait of Hormuz.
The United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on 28 February. Major Iranian cities, including Tehran, were hit. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a retaliatory operation targeting sites in Israel. US military bases in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were also hit.
