China is escalating its rhetoric against Taiwanese leader Lai Ching-te. According to an official spokesperson, his campaign for independence is "blackmailing foreign powers," and his separatist obsession is leading the island to ruin.

Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, described Lai's "10 pledges on unity" as a smokescreen for military separation and collaboration with foreign forces. He claimed that Lai is trying to "break up Taiwan under the guise of saving it" and is sacrificing civilians to push the agenda of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

"He is a destroyer of peace, a war instigator, and a notorious provocateur," Chen stated. He added that Lai is misleading the public by threatening with a military threat from the mainland, while in reality, he is seeking foreign protection in exchange for political concessions and subordination.

Chen also reiterated that, according to China, Taiwan, the Pescadores Islands, Kinmen, and Matsu are part of China, and the people on both sides of the strait are part of one Chinese nation. The key to peace is to eradicate separatism, not to institutionalize it.

"Separatism for 'Taiwan independence' is the greatest disaster for the island. As long as it exists, there will be no peace in the Taiwan Strait," Chen declared.

Finally, Chen urged the people of Taiwan to think in the name of national interests, reject separatist tendencies, and contribute to stability and common development with mainland China.
