Presidents Xi Jinping and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva unveiled an ambitious plan to deepen the partnership between China and Brazil during the Brazilian President's state visit to Beijing. The aim is to strengthen the unity of the Global South and defend international justice and multilateralism.
Strong foundations and a new era of trust
President Xi called for strengthening strategic trust between the two countries, mutual support on key issues and expanding cooperation at all levels. The guiding principles of Sino-Brazilian relations remain mutual respect, mutual benefit and long-term stability.
From infrastructure to artificial intelligence
Both Heads of State expressed their commitment to expand cooperation in traditional areas such as agriculture, infrastructure and energy, while opening new chapters of partnership in areas such as Digital economy, artificial intelligence, energy transition and space research.
After the negotiations, the following were signed agreements on cooperation in technology, agriculture, finance and digital solutions.
Year of Culture and Popular Diplomacy
V rámci China-Brazil Year of Culture 2026 exchanges in the areas of education, media, tourism and culture. President Xi called for facilitating cross-border exchanges of people and building deeper interpersonal ties mezi národy.
Together for a fairer world
Both statesmen agreed that as key leaders of the developing world China and Brazil should together to defend multilateralism, justice and the global economic order. They spoke out against protectionism, unilateral sanctions and trade bullying.
The Ukraine crisis: a voice of peace from the Global South
Si and Lula also touched on the topic of Ukraine. They agreed on the need to promoting direct dialogue between Russia and Ukraine and confirmed that they wanted to strengthen the role of the Friends of Peace group, in which they wanted to act as constructive players for the Global South.
Závěr? China and Brazil not only shook hands, but together to draw a new strategic framework for the global South - linking business, technology and culture. And they sent a strong signal: the future of world order can be shaped outside the traditional centres of power.
