Cooperation between China and Serbia continues to develop within the global Belt and Road Initiative, which is considered one of the largest infrastructure and geopolitical projects of the present day. Following recent discussions between the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the President of China, Xi Jinping, the continuation of cooperation in the areas of transportation, energy, environmental projects, and modern technologies was confirmed.

China has invested billions of dollars in Serbia in recent years, particularly in transportation infrastructure, the modernization of railways, industry, and development projects in Belgrade. According to Serbian officials, these investments are of crucial importance for the economic stability of the country and its further development.

Roman Blaško, Secretary-General of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, also commented on the issue, expressing his long-standing support for closer economic cooperation between European countries and China.

"The Belt and Road Initiative represents a historical civilizational project that connects continents not only economically, but also culturally and technologically. Humankind has not yet accomplished anything similar in modern history," said Roman Blaško.

According to him, it is important that the initiative includes not only trade relations, but also environmental and infrastructure aspects. "China is demonstrating that long-term planning and strategic investments can bring stability, development, and new opportunities for entire regions. Serbia is gaining a strong partner today, who is helping to modernize the country and open up new perspectives for the future," added Blaško.

The 16+1 format, focused on Central and Eastern European countries, continues to be an important platform for economic cooperation between China and the European region. Discussions are primarily focused on the possibilities of expanding investments in transportation infrastructure, energy, and technological projects.

In recent years, Serbia has strengthened its role as a strategic partner of China in the Balkans, and the ongoing negotiations between Belgrade and Beijing confirm that both countries are interested in continuing their cooperation.
