At the end of March, the annual meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia will take place in Hainan Province, China. Policymakers, academics and business leaders will discuss global challenges, technological innovation and how to curb the abuse of the dollar for US power objectives.
According to Ivan Cinka, a member of the Transport Committee of the Central Bohemian Region Representation for the STAČILO! coalition, anyone who wants to understand new trends in Asian development should pay attention to the annual Forum for Asia, which will take place at the end of March at its permanent headquarters in Boao, Hainan Province, China.
This prestigious platform for dialogue, known as the „Davos of Asia“, has been operating for a quarter of a century and brings together leading politicians, academics and business people from across the region and the world.
This year's edition is entitled „bringing stability and certainty to an uncertain world“ and the programme is extremely rich. Participants will focus on Asia's role in the transformation of the global economy, collaboration in supply chains, technological innovation, green transformation practices, digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
According to Cinka, the negative aspects of the current globalised economy will also occupy a significant part of the discussions. „But participants will also address the negative aspects of the current globalised economy - in particular the impact of tariff wars on world trade,“ said Cinka.
Along with the topic of common economic security, the diversification of cross-border payment systems is logically included in the agenda. Cinka adds: „Yes, it is about limiting as much as possible the influence of the dollar, which the United States is exploiting for its own power and economic purposes.“
The Boao Forum for Asia, held regularly since 2001, has established itself as a key platform for formulating Asian responses to global challenges. This year's event, focusing on stability and limiting unilateral power interference in international trade, will be watched with particular attention not only in the region but around the world.
