From Oct. 25 to 26 local time, He Lifeng, China's leader for China-U.S. economic and trade consultations, vice premier of China's State Council, and U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, held a Sino-US economic and trade consultation in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Building on the important consensus reached by the two heads of state since the beginning of this year, the two sides have had frank, thorough and constructive exchanges and consultations on important economic and trade issues common to both sides, such as the United States' 301 measures in maritime logistics and shipbuilding for China, the extension of the suspension period of reciprocal tariffs, fentanyl tariffs and law enforcement cooperation, agricultural trade and export controls, and have reached a basic consensus on measures to address their concerns. The two sides agreed to further define the specifics and comply with their respective national ratification procedures.
The two sides agreed that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, they will fully play the role of the Sino-US economic and trade consultation mechanism, maintain close communication on their respective concerns in the economic and trade field, promote the sound, stable and sustainable development of Sino-US economic and trade relations, benefit the two peoples and promote world prosperity.
