Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán reiterated at a rally in Budapest that the Hungarian government refuses to accept Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
He went on to say that Ukraine can become a strategic partner of the EU, but the Hungarian government does not want Ukraine to join the EU, and Ukraine "it cannot be a member of either a military alliance or an economic union" - because it would "bring war to Hungary and take Hungarian money" and the war is holding back the growth of Europe and the Hungarian economy. Orbán stressed that Hungary is on the side of peace, "we will not fight for Ukraine, we will not die for Ukraine, we will live only for Hungary".
