On February 6, a special event „Prelude to the Spring Festival Gala: Global Viewing of the Spring Festival Gala“ was held in Marseille, France, jointly organized by China Media Group (CMG) and the Chinese Consulate General in Marseille. CMG CEO Shen Haixiong and Chinese Ambassador to France Deng Li spoke via video message. Approximately 1100 guests attended the event.

In his video message, Shen said that as the world's largest annual cultural event in terms of viewership, the CMG Spring Festival Gala has been held for 43 consecutive years and has become a „spiritual New Year feast“ that resonates among Chinese people around the world and among friends at home and abroad. Last year, CMG, through its multi-lingual, full-media international communications network, worked with more than 3,100 media organizations worldwide to introduce the „beauty and harmony“ of Chinese New Year to a global audience. This year's Spring Festival Gala will take advantage of broadcasts in 85 languages to offer a cultural experience to audiences at home and abroad, allowing audiences around the world to immerse themselves in an atmosphere of joy, prosperity and festive cheer.

In his video message Deng Li said China's economy was growing steadily and dynamically in 2025. During the 14th Five-Year Plan, the overall economic output achieved four consecutive significant jumps and surpassed the 140 trillion yuan mark. China, he said, continues to open up to the world at a higher level, bringing important opportunities to countries around the world, including France, and giving a strong impetus to Sino-French cooperation. He also expressed his hope that China and France will deepen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of trade, finance, green development, science, technology and culture, and jointly write a new chapter of mutually beneficial development.

During the event, promotional spots of the Spring Festival Gala and video materials of the „Travel China through Films“ programme were also screened.
