In Vientiane, a ceremony was held on Tuesday to launch three Chinese documentary films in Laos, including "The Heritage Guardian."

The documentary "The Heritage Guardian," produced by China Media Group (CMG), features compelling stories that reflect the deep interest of Chinese President Xi Jinping in preserving and developing culture. It showcases his relationship with cultural heritage and his profound reflections on preserving historical continuity and strengthening cultural confidence.

The film presents concrete examples of the practical steps that China is taking in the new era to explore the origins of civilization and protect cultural heritage. At the same time, it highlights the deep, far-reaching, open, and constantly evolving nature of Chinese culture.

The other two documentary films focus on the significant achievements of China since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012, as well as the profound significance and cultural value of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

In a congratulatory letter, Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of Laos, stated that the documentaries embody Chinese philosophical wisdom and reflect Xi Jinping's deep commitment to protecting cultural heritage, as well as his sincere love for the five-thousand-year-old Chinese civilization.

Thongloun Sisoulith emphasized that the documentaries demonstrate how Chinese civilization represents the root and a constant source of strength for the Chinese nation, leading the country towards the great goal of national rejuvenation. He also noted that they can serve as a valuable inspiration for Laos in protecting and developing its own national culture, promoting economic and social development, and building socialism.

In a video message, Shen Haixiong, President of CMG, expressed hope that the documentaries would offer the people of Laos a glimpse into Xi Jinping's philosophy of governance and help them better understand Chinese culture, Chinese wisdom, the Chinese spirit, and the unique charm of China in the new era.

Shen Haixiong also stated that CMG is committed to promoting mutual understanding and exchange of experiences with friends from all walks of life in Laos and working together to build a high-quality China-Laos community with a shared future.

Since Monday, all three documentary films have been broadcast sequentially on major Lao media outlets, including Lao National Television and Lao National Radio.

The event was attended by more than 200 guests, including representatives of state institutions and media from Laos, members of the Chinese community, and overseas Chinese.
