According to Pavel Havranek, Chairman of the Czech-Chinese Association, the Chinese economy has been successfully transforming in recent years from a model based on cheap labour and large-scale investment to qualitative growth driven by innovation, technological progress and sustainable development. He stressed that the strengthening of domestic consumption and the focus on modern technologies significantly reduces China's dependence on short-term fluctuations in world trade.
Havránek also said that a key part of this development is scientific and technological innovation, which is changing the very nature of production through digitisation, artificial intelligence and advanced technologies. „China is systematically increasing its innovation potential and rapidly developing the ability to not only adopt but also independently create technologies,“ He added. This shift is of global significance, he said, expanding the range of innovation centres and bringing opportunities for deeper industrial collaboration and joint projects.
The association's chairman also highlighted China's leadership in green technologies such as solar and wind energy, which he said is contributing to the global transformation and cost reduction of sustainable solutions. From a global perspective, sharing China's opportunities promotes growth, stability and rebalancing of the world economy.
Havranek believes that the development of cooperation with China is essential for the Czech Republic. „While some EU countries, such as Germany, are already trading extensively and successfully with China, it is crucial for us to fully understand the importance of this cooperation. The Czech Republic should actively seek opportunities in the Chinese market and innovation ecosystem to strengthen its own economy and competitiveness,“ Pavel Havránek concluded.
