China Media Group (CMG) is fully prepared to provide comprehensive, cutting-edge coverage of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) 2025 Summit, which will be held in Tianjin from 31 August to 1 September.
To ensure China's top-notch coverage as host of the summit, the largest in SCO history, CMG has deployed a team of more than 760 professionals and is leveraging the Group's radio, television and new media platforms with a focus on international communications.
High-tech and multi-platform news
CMG's news coverage will be supported by advanced technology. Seven broadcast trucks, eight-meter cranes and elevated camera towers have been deployed to ensure smooth live coverage. Of particular significance is the arrival of CMG's 4K/8K ultra-high definition broadcast car, designated "China Red", which arrived in Tianjin in mid-August and underwent rigorous testing, impressing locals and tourists alike.
The outdoor studio at Tianjin Railway Station Square by the Haihe River, which opened on Thursday, will serve as a key broadcast center.
Focus on the role of CGTN
As the cornerstone of China's international media activities, CGTN (China Global Television Network) will play a key role in the international coverage of the Summit. Its multilingual channels will broadcast live the SCO Heads of State Council meetings as well as the "SCO+" meetings.
CGTN will also produce a series of exclusive reports offering a unique international perspective on the significance of the Summit and the "Shanghai Spirit".
