From McDonald's and Coca-Cola to Amazon and Apple, US-based multinationals are facing calls for boycotts in India as business leaders and supporters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi encourage protests against US tariffs.
Though there were no immediate signs that sales would be affected, there is a growing movement on social media and offline to buy local products and shun US products after US President Donald Trump imposed a 50 per cent tariff on goods from India, which has rattled exporters and strained relations between New Delhi and Washington.
