In an interview with Zou Yun of China Media Group's Leaders Talk, Uruguayan President Yamandú Orsi stressed the importance of Latin American unity and the need to strengthen cooperation with China.
According to Orsi, deeper coordination among the countries of the Global South is crucial, especially as Uruguay prepares to assume the rotating presidency of several multilateral organisations in 2026. The president said regional solidarity and open dialogue with international partners can contribute to sustainable development and more stable global relations.
In the interview, he also highlighted the importance of economic cooperation, investment and political dialogue between Latin America and China, which he said are important pillars for future growth and common development.
