At the opening ceremony of the **13th World Peace Forum** at Tsinghua University, **Han Zheng** delivered a speech in which he described the current world as **turbulent, full of crises, and undergoing rapid changes**. He argued that China has something to offer during this time.

He highlighted initiatives by President Xi Jinping, such as the **Initiative for Global Development, Security, and Civilization**, and the concept of a "**community with a shared future for mankind**," presenting them as **Chinese solutions to global problems**.

Han noted that 2025 is a significant anniversary, marking the **80th anniversary of the end of World War II** and the **founding of the United Nations**. He emphasized that these milestones serve as a reminder that it is necessary to **defend the international order based on the UN Charter, law, and multilateralism.**

He also emphasized the importance of **openness, fair trade, and global supply chains**, which are crucial for **inclusive growth and modernization**. He stressed the need to **reduce inequalities and support developing countries**, ensuring their voices are heard.

The forum brought together approximately **400 participants from around the world**, including former Japanese Prime Minister **Yukia Hatoyama**, former President of the European Council **Herman Van Rompuy**, as well as leading diplomats and academics.

In this way, China is once again positioning itself on the world stage as a **defender of peace, partnership, and balance between East and West.**
