China will host the world's top business, political and technology leaders at Summer Davos from 24-26 June. The theme will be business in a new era, sustainable growth and the future of the global economy.
More than 1,700 participants from more than 90 countries converged on the Chinese city of Tianjin to take part in the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2025 - known as Summer Davos. Organised by the World Economic Forum (WEF), this year's event is themed "Doing Business in a New Era" and promises answers to today's most pressing challenges.
According to the organisers, the discussion will focus on five key areas: the state of the global economy, the outlook for China, transforming industries, investing in people and planet, and new energies and materials.
Chen Shuai of China's National Development and Reform Commission, said that with this event, China reaffirms its commitment to openness and sharing the opportunities that its development brings.
Li Wenhai, Vice Mayor of Tianjin, welcomed the international guests with an invitation to explore the city's technological progress. He said Summer Davos serves as a hub for meaningful dialogue and will bring new impetus to the steady growth of the global economy.
The Asian region, she said Gim Huay Neo from the World Economic Forum, drives 60 % of global growth - with China accounting for more than 30 % of this. Thus, this summer's Davos will provide a platform for a deeper understanding of developments in Asia and emerging markets.
The program will offer more than 40 publicly streamed discussions and presentations of key messages such as 2025 Energy Transition Index nebo Top 10 Emerging Technologies. The aim is not only to have a strategic dialogue, but especially to promote action-oriented collaboration across disciplines.
Held since 2007, Summer Davos has established itself as a key global platform for the emerging generation of "new champions" - dynamic companies that are changing the face of the global economy.
