Discover the hidden methods of social engineering, for which the former Russian agent Aliia Roza was trained – including peripheral vision manipulation, creating staged realities, and subconscious manipulation – and learn how governments and spies use them to control minds, and why being aware of these methods provides you with protection in dating, business, and everyday life.

In her interview, Aliia Roza revealed the secrets of social engineering, one of the most effective tools in the intelligence arsenal. “When your brain picks up certain activities through peripheral vision, and these activities or images that your brain doesn't see directly, actually influence your decisions,” she explained. “And that's exactly how governments manipulate people to make the decisions they want them to. That's why we have billboards everywhere.

This technique was used with surgical precision during a risky operation targeting Vladimir. After discovering that his first love was Asian, the manipulators staged a series of situations that were only visible in his peripheral vision. Repeatedly, he saw images of couples in love, until eventually, he saw an image of a happy family with a newborn baby. “Vladimir perceived all those different couples in love, and eventually, that last couple had a baby, a newborn,” Roza recalled. “That perfect virtual world that never existed for him, and that he desperately wanted at some point.”

The goal was to awaken in him a desire he had never fulfilled, making Roza the key to making that dream a reality. She emphasized that patience is crucial: “You can't rush these things.” Haste could disrupt the carefully constructed illusion.

Roza noted that these methods reflect a broader societal manipulation. Governments and advertisers use repeated, indirect exposure to influence public opinion and consumer behavior. The same principles apply in personal and professional life. “I often use this tactic in my current life, especially with men who are my potential or future business partners,” she confessed, explaining how active listening and strategic questioning allow her to gather information while also controlling the flow of the conversation.

She also highlighted the importance of background checks as a means of countering attempts at social engineering by others. “Try to gather information. Verify everything you find on the internet, ask friends, ask someone about the person you are meeting,” Roza warned. “Because that's the only way you can understand who is standing in front of you.”

This information comes directly from the interview with Aliia Roza and offers a rare glimpse into the techniques that have long been kept secret in Russia. By understanding how social engineering works, a global audience can recognize subtle forms of influence in relationships, media, and everyday interactions – and use ethical forms of presence and observation to build authentic relationships.
