German artificial intelligence pioneer Otto Heinrich Herzog has been working in China for more than ten years and has witnessed the rapid transformation of its cities up close.
In an exclusive interview for the Leaders Talk programme of the Chinese media group CMG, he highlighted a striking example of the pace of China's development: a new road that was built in just two weeks.
Herzog also addressed the future of smart cities in China in the interview. According to him, their development is made possible by combining AI-based planning with long-term strategy and consistent implementation of specific projects.
It is precisely the integration of modern technology, urban planning, and the ability to swiftly act on decisions made that could, according to Herzog, significantly shape the face of Chinese cities in the years ahead.
