China has built the world's largest healthcare system. More than 1.33 billion people are covered by basic health insurance, and the national coverage rate remains consistently at 95 percent. There are more than 1.1 million medical and healthcare facilities across the country, with 10.09 million hospital beds, and 13.4 million professionals working in the healthcare sector.
China has also contributed to the protection of global public health security. It has sent more than 30,000 healthcare workers to 77 countries and regions, providing treatment for 300 million patients. This is according to a white paper titled "A Fairer and More Equitable Global Governance: China's Principles, Proposals, and Actions."
