PRAGUE/TOP 09 - Helena Langšádlová, a member of the TOP 09 party, cordially invites you to a roundtable discussion entitled "The Convergence of Chinese and Russian Propaganda," which will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 2:30 PM in the premises of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.

The event is organized in cooperation with the Association for International Affairs (AMO) and will focus on the current state of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the areas of propaganda, strategic communication, and influence operations targeting Europe. The discussion will offer insights from experts on the security and geopolitical implications of coordinated information campaigns by Russia and China, including the spread of disinformation, public opinion manipulation, and the use of state and non-state actors.

The presentations will be based on analytical publications such as "Great changes unseen: The China-Russia nexus and European security," "Borrowed mouths and laundered messages: China’s influence playbook in Europe," and "Meeting or Failing Strategic Goals? Assessing the Impact on Russia of the War in Ukraine," prepared by the Association for International Affairs. These studies will be available to participants at the event.

Speakers will include, among others, Ivana Karásková, an expert from AMO; Michael Romancov, a political geographer; and Pavel Havlíček, an analyst. In their presentations, they will focus on the goals of Chinese propaganda in Europe, the relationship between Russia and China in the current geopolitical context, and the role of Beijing in the war in Ukraine.

The program will also include a joint discussion dedicated to the impact of these activities on the European security environment, the resilience of democratic institutions, and public discourse, as well as ways to respond to these challenges at the national and European Union levels.

The event will be held in the building of the Chamber of Deputies at the address Sněmovní 4, Prague 1, in room A22.

The full program can be found in the attached invitation. We would be delighted if you could attend this roundtable discussion. Please confirm your participation by today by email: pankovah@psp.cz.

Entry to the building is only possible with confirmed registration and a valid form of identification.
